Can I upload my own list of phone numbers?
No. With FanActivate, you can only send text messages to users who have opted in through our system. This ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of CTIA and TCPA.
How can I estimate the costs of a campaign?
First, estimate the number of people you believe will subscribe to your text-to-join campaign. Let’s say you estimate 1,000 people will subscribe to your text-to-join campaign. With most campaigns, typically four messages are sent. Your cost would be around $0.45 per user based on Rookie pricing.
What happens if I exceed a message-level threshold during my campaign?
It’s simple. If you go over a level’s message threshold, all messages sent over that threshold will be charged at the next level's pricing. So if you send 20,100 messages in a month, then you will pay for 100 of those messages at the Professional level rate.
What leagues do you support?
We currently support the NFL, NBA. NHL, MLB, English Premier League, NCAA-FB and NCAA-BB. By the end of 2015, we will support Formula 1, NASCAR, ATP, PGA and MotoGP.
Is there a minimum commitment or contract?
No, we have no minimum commitment or contract. We welcome advertisers big and small to use our barrier-breaking system. You can also pause and resume a campaign at any time. This is a great feature just in case your marketing genius idea generates more subscribers than you expected.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Is there a limit on keywords?
No limits! Go for it! We encourage you to experiment with your campaigns, but we suggest keeping keywords short and easy to remember.
What is a Campaign Keyword?
SMS Keywords are limited to 15 characters and must be made up of either letters or numbers. They are used in conjunction with short codes (e.g text FANACT to 97307) typically to advertise your business or service. Also, they have to be unique, which means the SMS keyword will not be available if it's already used by any another FanActivate customer.
